A NIGHT'S WISH

Thought I should share this poem: Someone had me inspired on such a night and I had to write these words down:

The night is gradually faltering,
And the thoughts,
On my mind slowly diminish,
Cultivating a cool atmosphere,
For sleep to overpower me,
Inevitably, waiting the dawn of a new day.
The muted light escaping into the room,
Stops my mind,
From wandering away to utopia,
I start imagining the beauty of the sky,
Studded with sparkling stars-
For a moment,
I envy their content way of existence,
A presumption made by watching them glitter;
An urge to catch a glimpse,
Of the tranquil and idyllic  night awakens,
Apace, but carefully,
I head for the window,
Surprisingly, the conspicuous moon is in view-
So enormous and ravishing;
Unexpectedly, I descry,
A scud of dark clouds fast approaching,
An augury that rain is on the horizon,
I savor the spectacular sight,
Which purely purge the sadness,
From my heart,
Softly as the bright sky,
Disappears in the shadows,
I utter a wish;
My night's wish...
'If only I could feel the sky with my bare hands'

GREAT BOON COMPANION (PART 2)

It strikes,
When least expected,
Either when bereft of hope,
Or troubled by mistakes,
Precipitously, creating a twist,
On how we perceive life,
Forming an in-rush,
Of new ideas,
Bound to change,
One's emotional,
Plus psychological well-being,
Leading to rise,
Of a convivial atmosphere,
Which leads to the attainment of success,
As well as,
A panoply of mixed emotions,
Destitute of negative,
Chiefly, disquieting actions;
A tranquility,
That lasts in perpetuity,
Just like,
Great boon companions,
Who resonate our,
Faces with smiles.

GREAT BOON COMPANION (PART 1)

We get to meet people who change our lives. In some way, they also get to inspire us. This is a poem to show some appreciation to such people:

In a life,

We desire so many things,
Weird, impossible and unknown,
Hoping,
To grasp them someday,
Unfortunately, not many live,
To see everything,
Fall into place,
Some relinquish,
While others,
Opt for change-
However, there is one thing,
Which leaves us unflinching,
Motivated and enthusiastic-
The catalyst for joy,
Also, the ascent to success.
Giving one the will and power,
To triumph over any,
Hindering obstacle,
Find a lasting solution,
To any incubus,
While ensuring,
One is incessantly sparky,
Far from loneliness incarceration,
That often,
Hover around us,
Diminishing the only strength,
Left within our hearts.

REPLENISHMENT OF HAPPINESS

Our lives take a twist,
When least expected,
Leaving a permanent mark,
That's hard to erase,
Acting as a remembrance,
Of our fortune and misfortune;
It's always positive or negative,
Either happiness or sadness,
For as much as we try,
We can never choose,
An option,
That suits us best,
To enclose,
The situations,
We find ourselves in.
All this make one,
Virulent about life;
Due to the villainous,
Experiences encountered,
But also,
Ensure our faces are aglow,
With a demure smile,
Garnered from the joy,
That entangles our paths;
Though sometimes,
It doesn't last long,
It does pep one up,
Relieving the pain,
Of the past disappointments,
Gotten from inconsiderate people,
Who with no time,
Become an eroded memory,
While their actions blur,
Impairing their power,
To spasmodically,
Blight and disrupt our lives.

THE FORMIDABLE ROCK

Each wave beats,
Hard and strong,
All trying to outdo each other,
Yet no trophy stands elevated,
In an elongated podium,
As a price for the winner.
The feeble sand,
Incurs the wrath,
Of the unrelenting waves,
Slowly being pushed to the shore,
Their cries unheard-
 Cries of dismay.
A rock remains unmoved,
Not even the vicious blows,
Of the  waves can shake it,
For it exudes great valor,
Immense hope and faith,
Inspiring whoever casts,
His eyes in its direction-
Making them wish,
To be unshakable like,
The Formidable Rock.

FINDING INSPIRATION

Inspiration is a very unpredictable component of our lives. Sometimes it comes in a instant but in some occasions you have to scratch the deepest corner of the mind, heart or stare blankly at the environs. Even in doing all these, one is not assured of success.

It is with this peculiarity that you ought to have some  techniques of finding, capturing and enclosing the inspiration in your way. Trying some simple steps and methods would come in handy when finding inspiration proves futile. Try to:

Reflect on your goal . This is the basic step. You ought to relax yourself physically and emotionally. This helps in being ready as inspiration flows in. A walk, meditation or simply sitting in a serene environment can be really helpful.

Focus your mind. Try to grasp anything new that comes into your mind. Think of a past memory, experiences or things you feel fervently and write them down. Be receptive to new ideas and concepts because sometimes they may turn out to be your greatest inspiration. Keep all ideas simple to avoid ambiguity and complexity.

Spice up. Try doing things that relate to your ideas. They can be listening to music that inspires you, watching videos to expand on your imagination, reading books to add more knowledge, telling a story to get your mind more active.

Form and create images on your mind. Look at the idea as a whole and in a different aspect. Write a rough copy so that you may refer to it later. It will help you make any changes or adjustments.

Don't give up . Sometimes finding inspiration may stress and leave you on the verge of giving up. Just put everything down and sleep on it. Try it out some other time when you feel refreshed and more energized.

Get out of old habits. Try doing something different from whatever you are used to. Disrupting your surroundings can get you in a good spirit and renewed inspiration. Visit new places to clear your thoughts.

Finding the much needed inspiration could appear easier if the above steps are mastered. It will take less effort with time.

POETRY AS AN ART
Poetry is an art which is commonly associated with an avalanche of emotions, creative ideas and sometimes  mixture of this two. This art is also renowned for its ability to incorporate and embrace many views in the society; either social, political, personal or anything of mound importance worth sharing with the community.
It is through this that poetry has revolutionized the way things are done in the society. It has achieved this directly or indirectly. A direct way has been to encourage people to adopt right values  in order to co-exist with one another harmoniously. A quite well known indirect way that poetry has touched on people, is the immense inspiration it bears. This with time has gradually induced many attributes to its readers which in one way or another 'brings life' to them.

Bringing change, giving inspiration has always been some of our aspirations. A great motivation in any endeavor  we undertake. When attained, it does give one a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

This blog has been created in order get in someway a fraction of the much desired change and inspiration. It is mostly about poems that have been engineered by myself.
The first poem am going to share is entitled "The Treasured Hint of Hope: part one" It generally talks about how something tiny can initiate change and give one the much needed strength.

THE TREASURED HINT OF HOPE

A drop of water hits my forehead,

All smiles and a trifle perplexed,
I fathom out its nigh 'execution',
Of the scorching sun.
To seal my unexpected joy,
I decide to take a strained look at the sky,
Knowing I wouldn't necessarily,
Hath to cling on my skimpy,
Bottle of drinking water anymore,
Since the hot weather would be no more.
The sight is disappointingly appalling,
Plus immensely disheartening,
A complete opposite of my expectation-
The sun so comfy in a crystal clear sky,
Sans any evident sign of rain,
Either today or anytime soon.
Crushed and abate,
I turn to my only hope-
The wee drop on my brow,
Carefully, I wipe it off,
Hand aloft,
It settles on the fore-finger;
So helpless and vulnerable,
Yet it was the key,
To end my misery.
I stare at it closely,
Then take a gander,
At the ambient conditions;
The land so parched and the plants withered,
Not in the least as fortunate as I'm,
"They too deserve a ray of hope"
A voice whispers in my head,
Passively, I nod in agreement.

There will be a second part that contains the continuation.
